OH yea.....I almost forgot, a Mr. Coffee coffe maker....
And that wasn't even ALL of the "Loot"!  For the most part, the Clothing was all .50 apiece(except for the scrubs) and the Coffe maker came in at a WHOPPIN $3.00! Which is a little more than the last 2 makers I've scored. On a good note, I managed to get him down from $5.00. FYI, It doesn't matter if I go out and buy one of the expensive NEW ones....CUZ the just don't last. True confessions of a Coffee ADDICT!! This is my 3rd coffee pot in 3 years. I've spent $5.00 total on them:)

My Proverbs "verse of the day"
Prov. 28:14
Blessed is the man who always fears the Lord, but he who hardens his heart falls into trouble.

To "fear God" is to obey and honor Him. When I determine my own course, when I fail to heed His Word, AND/OR the gentle tugging on my heart by the Spirit, I am hardening my heart.  My past is full of that AND the consequences! I can only pray that my future will include a gentle, malleable, teachable heart.
Happy Saturday

shades of grey.......AND a reminder:)

Shades of grey might well describe my MOOD or, in these parts, THE WEATHER!  Sunny Florida hasn't been so sunny lately.  :(   While it has cooled us off just a tad, it's still pretty hot.  However, I'm NOT talkin about any of that( My mood is pretty good....Thanks for asking:).

May I present  SHADES OF GREY..........

EASY PEASY!!! The whole project was $2.00 and it helps tie in this project from HERE .  The two pen  and ink drawings were already up. My Grampa did them when HE was in school.  Mom has had them there for years and when I moved in I just left them there. Above the window has just been a blank space, until now!

The whole projects consists of :
  •  CARDBOARD
  • GIFTWRAP
  • BOOK
  • BLACK SPRAYPAINT(my $2.00 purchase)
  • METALLIC TWIST
  • HOT GLUE
  • RIBBON
  • TAPE
The most time consuming thing was dealing with the book. Ripping the pages out was a little difficult. Gluing them all on took a FEW minutes!  The first thing I did was spraypaint the big piece of cardboard. After dry time I glued the gift wrap onto the black board and added the book papers. I alternated the direction of them as I was glueing to(hopefully) make it fuller. Then I added the black metallic twist and bow. The two smaller pieces, on the sides, were simply taped onto the cardboard. The ribbon loops were also taped on. QUICK and SIMPLE .  I guess you might say it's a combination of the paper wreaths floating about and the giftwrap art. MY twist on it , anyways:)

A REMINDER,
There IS a giveaway goin on!!!!  You can ENTER HERE !!  There is still time to enter:)

And, The selected vers from my daily reading is

Proverbs 26:20
"Without wood a fire goes out, without gossip a quarrel dies down."

How easy it is to get into the "juicy details".  Questions I ask myself:
Did someone confide to me in confidence????
Am I wounding someone with my words???
Who am I helping by what I have to say?

Getting caught up in "discussing" someone else's life can be OH so tempting.  Especially, when you are LONGING for ADULT conversation.  When I'm feeling DOWN about myself.  Even feeling slighted by someone. But, REALLY,  God's word gives us plenty of direction about this!

Treasures! and giveaway reminder:)

"Mommy, it's DAYTIME get UP."  Glad I got a jump ahead and beat Goose to IT today!   It's TUESDAY and
one of my fav. things about TUESDAY is   Small Treasure Tuesday with Chantel .  It's a wonderful weekday reminder to be THAnKfuL!
As today is Primary Day, in my great state of Florida, I am choosing to Be Grateful for FREEDOM!! Although, it can be quite easy to point out all the things I think are "wrong" or don't agree with I am very thankful that I live in this great land!!
I am thankful for all of those who came before me and were willing to lay down their lives. A great price was paid for my freedom, from generations past to present day. To our Armed Forces and our Veterans, I say "THANK YOU"!  I am grateful that in this country we have something call RIGHTS. They are a priviledge taken much to lightly by many in today's world.  I have the right to speak my opinion, to bear arms, to worship and to vote!(Yes, I know there are more...:.)  Thank YOU to our Founding Fathers who had the courage and conviction to stand up for "Justice and Liberty for all"! Lastly, I am grateful for YOU, my neighbors! It takes ALL of us to make this country great!

Today's daily verse from Proverbs is Prov. 24:21-22
"Fear the Lord and the king, my son, and do not join the rebellious, (22) for those two will send sudden destruction upon them, and who knows what calamities they may bring?"

Not only do I have a duty to God, I have a duty to my country.  God's word tells us to fulfill those duties and to honor those who lead us. Perhaps that includes all the name calling and fault finding so prevelant today. It most certainly reminds me to VOTE, to be LAW ABIDING, and Pay my Taxes.(I'm not sayin these are ALL my FAV things to do either:)

If you missed my GIVEAWAY POST there's still time to ENTER HERE !

Happy Tuesday Neighbor:)

Monday Monday.....and a dress reveal!

Good Morning Merry Sunshine!
Words that make me smile, whether the sarcasm was intended or NOT:)  Goose hears those words quite frequently. They remind me of someone I love. But that is another post!  Why YES, I am planning ahead.....Thanks for noticing!

Just in case you missd yesterday's post, There's a Giveaway Goin' ON here!

I can't take pics of myself for Nothin!

If you look REAL HARD in the copper scarf you MIGHT be able to see the copper filament thread glistening like a sunbeam... PRETEND YOU SEE IT!!!  The buttons are vintage, as are the silk scarfs  I used at the neckline.  The material was gifted to me as was the pattern.

The pattern for this  was a SIMPLICITY 7149 ---It's SO EASY. And, it Actually WAS.  That  almost never happens to me!  There are only 4 pieces to the pattern, unless you add the pockets. Which I  did not.  It would have been a super quick job, had I not been attempting to sing the  "Serging Sorrows" blues.  By the time I get that thing figured out my Friend  will want it back! Hmmmmm, maybe IF I refuse to show her how to use it she'll let it stay:) Just sayin.....

While the pattern is kinda summery?? I think it would be super easy to layer this piece. Either with a cute little shrug or light sweater OVER it, OR with a turtleneck UNDER it. And YES, I am aware that I'm Floridian and that fall weather wont actually be here until JANUARY!  Which is actually a benefit for this piece. I get to wear it YEAR ROUND.  whoops shoulda whispered that part.  I don't want any BFF's thinkin they can come raid my closet now!

As I mentioned yesterday I am including a verse from my daily Proverbs reading. Today it was a little tough to choose!

Prov. 23:12
Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge.

This application applies not only to our spiritual life and our relationship with El Elyon---God Most High, but also to our physical life and physical things.
 Questions I ask Myself:

Am I teachable, ready to listen and absorb??
Am I acting on emotion or on knowledge??
Does this agree with instruction/teachings from the Bible??

Too many times I have wanted to do it my way, instead of searching out the truth of God's Word. Heartache and grief was the usual outcome.  Fortunately, my Father's love and forgiveness are always open and waiting for me:)

Check Out MY new partay page to see where I'm linkin up today!

HOWEVER,  if I did say those things,  I would be tellin a FIB...welll...except maybe for #2.  grin...
Anyhows, I missed my neighbors(that means YOU) so I decided to settle down and punish REWARD myself for all the stuff I've had to endure, been doing lately and GET BACK to the neighborhood again. I mean really, who else wants to look at all the junk i'm doing??? Assuming, YOU do, of course!

I  have been channeling my energy/time into some other areas. I think we ALL know that there are choices and  decisions to be made considering the time and energy we have to spend. And while, some of my time away was pretty meaningful I really did miss YOU!!

As you may realize, I am a Christian. One of the things I learned to do when I was a high schooler(1000  24 a few years ago:) was to read a chapter of Proverbs daily.  If you have read my "about Me" page than you know I am FAR from perfect. Even during those times,  the Proverbs thing stuck with me! So, I have decided to add a verse from Proverbs(from the chapter of the day) on Todays and future posts....

Proverbs 22:1   A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver and gold.

What do YOU think being esteemed or having a good name entails??

Here are some of the characteristics I think are needed:
Honesty, humility, discretion, kindness, gratefulness, reliability and faithfullness.

Happy Sunday Neighbors!!
